About Katie

Katie's journey with yoga began eight years ago as part of a natural curiosity. Her sense of adventure took on the challenge of learning something new to come out of her comfort zone. Initially, she thought of her practice as a fun way of exercising and relieving stress, however it has since transformed into having a deeper understanding of her inner self and her life. She is drawn to the power of yoga both in mind and body --- her mat, providing a place of peace, calm, and self-reflection and her body, providing a feeling of strength and power.

In 2013, Katie completed her 200-hour teacher training in Scranton, Pennsylvania with Always-at-Aum Yoga. As a registered nurse and dietitian, she is drawn to helping and motivating others and considers this the most rewarding aspect of her career. Her goal in teaching yoga is to help translate the experience gained on the mat to daily life off the mat and to spread the sense of peace, balance and happiness that she found in yoga.

We asked Katie

Why do you practice yoga?

Because it is literally magic! It is amazing how yoga begins to transform body and mind in just a few moments on the mat. I crave that feeling of sweet surrender at the end of my practice, and it keeps me coming back for more!

What fuels you?

Kindness, helping others, the outdoors, my family, traveling, cooking, an awesome adventure and yoga, of course!!

Katie's favorite piece of wisdom:

"Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be." -- B.K.S. Iyengar
