What to expect in a class with Maeve
In addition to syncing movement with breath, students are challenged to identify and carry an intention with them as they move through each pose. By laying down a foundation for emotional release and personal development, Maeve guides her students in their journey toward accepting how each day is a work in progress…on and off the mat.
In 2008, Maeve turned to yoga as a way to heal the physical pain of Lyme disease and hypertension and the emotional side effects of heartbreak. She became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with West Hartford Yoga in 2009 and five years later, became a certified Y12SR (Yoga of 12-Step Recovery) instructor.
In 2009, Maeve also founded Grace Kelly Yoga (gracekellyyoga.com) and has been teaching yoga classes and wellness workshops for the past seven years at various studios and yoga retail stores in Connecticut, including lululemon athletica and Athleta. Maeve recently moved back to Vermont and is excited to start building a community of students at Mighty Yoga.
We asked Maeve
Why do you practice yoga?
I practice yoga because it grounds me and brings me back to my Truth.
What fuels you?
Nature, my spiritual practice, and finding new ways to share what I’ve learned about gratitude and grace with others.
