Hi, I’m Jessica and This Is How I Kick Asana!

Name: Jessica Hickie

Occupation: Dietitian

Favorite yoga pose: I LOVE arm balances and have been working on my current favorite: Mayurasana (peacock) pose. For my everyday practice I would have to say my all -time favorite is Supta Baddha Konasana – it makes me feel open, grounded, and centered.

Yoga is… my teacher and best friend. Yoga has taught me so many valuable lessons and is always there when I need it most.

What do you love most about yoga? I love how much balance yoga brings both on and off the mat. You are able to find harmony between strength and flexibility, focus and surrender, deep reflection and letting go… and there’s always room for some fun! =)

What fuels you? Quiet nights at home with my husband, cooking (and eating!) a delicious meal, relaxing cup of tea, cuddles from my dog, exploring new places, sunshine and uncontrollable laughs with friends.

My NON-guilty pleasure is… tacos. and a few more tacos.

What makes you Mighty? My passion for a healthy lifestyle and good times.

If you had a super power what would it be and why? Definitely flying! It would be amazing to be able to travel wherever and whenever you wanted!

When I wake up in the morning, I always do these two things… Drink hot water with lemon and give my pup a few belly rubs.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? My best friend lives by the saying “Do something every day that scares you.” It motivates me to think less and do more. So many wonderful things came into my life by just jumping in and seeing where the course takes me. It’s been an amazing ride!
