Favorite yoga pose: Dragonfly, or any arm-balance
Yoga is... my time to tune in, to slow down, and to be mindful.
What do you love most about yoga? I love that my yoga practice allows me to push "pause", even if just for an hour. I feel free to quiet the noises, to push away "negative self-talk". I use yoga to connect with myself; I find that when I take time to treat myself with kindness, I am a kinder and more patient person with others.
What fuels you? I am fueled by fresh air and adventure. It's interesting, yoga is usually an indoor activity for me, and I love the hot and sweaty feeling I get from practicing inside, next to other strong and beautiful yogis. That said, I am fueled by adventure and a need to be outside in the fresh air. I love anything that takes me outside- hiking with my dogs, running, skiing, a walk in the woods at sunrise. I am constantly amazed by the beauty that surrounds us - we just need to stop and take a moment to notice and appreciate.
My NON-guilty pleasure is...daily cappuccinos.
What makes you Mighty? I'm mighty because I choose to seek out new opportunities for learning. As a teacher, I am hard on myself; it's easy to reflect and think about a hundred things I could do better. I'm choosing to shift my mindset and look at myself as a life-long learner. I am hungry for new information, new ideas, and new approaches. I can always be better, yes, but I prefer to find hope in the endless opportunities to learn and grow. That's exciting and helps me feel "mighty" in mind and body.
When I wake up in the morning, I always do these two things...brush my teeth and give my husband a "good morning" smooch.
What's the best advice you've ever received? "Comparison is the thief of joy"
