Hi, I'm Beth and this is How I Kick Asana!
Name: Beth Phillips-Whitehair
Occupation: Kindergarten/First Grade teacher
Favorite yoga pose: There are many…and I can’t believe I am saying this (Wendy!), but it may be HALF PIGEON, simply because it reminds me of the possibility for change and the need to have an open mind. I really DID NOT like it when I began….
Yoga is...grounding and cleansing.
What do you love most about yoga? The opportunity to work towards equanimity.
What fuels you? Mighty yoga, sleep, and ‘clean’, fresh food as things I do for myself. Friends, family, my pets, work, and summer flowers as things I surround myself with.
My NON-guilty pleasure is...Walking with friends, yoga., and baking.
What makes you Mighty? Yoga! Thanks!! (in terms of sustaining me) My passion to commit to things I believe in. (philosophically)
What was your favorite part about the February Challenge? What an amazing incentive to fire-up my practice. I was still a faithful student, but had fallen off a bit. The creation of a concrete goal (with a tangible reward to boot!) was just the enticement I needed to step it up and remind myself I need to make time for me. Thank you for helping gain strength, peace and better health!
What’s your yoga story? How did you start practicing? I started about 20 years ago and then stopped practicing after having children. I was yearning to find a good spot to return to practicing and my friend introduced me to Mighty Yoga this past summer. Thanks Suze! Mighty Yoga has changed my life.
If you had a super power what would it be and why? The ability to make the whole world a peaceful and just place. The chaos that surrounds our world is debilitating for far too many. Think of the possibility for all to feel true joy and security. Wow, a gift!
What's the best advice you've ever received? “There’s no such thing as a problem, only solutions.” Thanks, Dad!
