Meet Our New Yoga Teacher, Mia!

Any tips for someone new to Yoga?
Don’t be ashamed to use props and take things slowly. Try not to compare your practice with others. Set out to make your practice something that nourishes you and have fun trying something new.

What is your favorite pose or poses? Why?
I love the warrior poses because they bring out the strength and resolve inside me. I also love tree pose and other standing balancing poses because the concentration of balancing calms my mind.

Meet Swan, Our New Yoga Teacher!

How has your Yoga changed since the first time you practiced?

My practice became much more compassionate and sustainable as I have slowly worked through my yoga ego and into my authentic expressions of poses. Understanding anatomy and alignment has also significantly modified my approach to poses and transitions.

Why did you decide to teach Yoga?

I want to share what I love, and I believe yoga has something for everyone.

Meet Katie S, Our New Barre Teacher!

How has your practice changed since the first time you tried Barre?
I’ve learned that it’s your state of mind that powers you through class, not muscles and bones. The more fun I’m having, the stronger I feel. You will often see me dancing through tough poses.

What do you like to do outside of class?
I like to play around outside. I paint (badly) and do lots of little projects. I like decorating my home and cultivating plants.

Meet Our New Teacher, Maeve!

How did you get introduced to Yoga?

In 2000, I went to my first yoga class with friends in Peru, Vermont. The studio was on the 2nd floor of a garage with large windows so we could watch the snow fall as we practiced. I was hooked.

What do you like about Power Vinyasa Flow?

I like that it opens up the mind while strengthening the body. I typically leave a Power Vinyasa flow class feeling amazed and grateful at what my body just accomplished.

Meet Caroline, Our New Teacher!

How did you get introduced to Yoga?

I had a compressed spinal injury and was not able to find any peace, until I found Yoga. I was able to grow a ¼ inch in my spine through my practice, which brought me so much relief and allowed me to enjoy daily life again.

What do you like to do off the yoga mat?

I love to spend time outdoors, cook, paint, read, make pottery, and learn from people and places!

Meet Hannah, Our New Barre Teacher!

Any tips for someone new to Barre?
EVERYONE is struggling during class! No matter how many classes I take, I still shake during thigh work and have to come out of at least one pose each class (then come back in). As long as you’re feeling the burn and pushing yourself to your edge, you’ll be getting what you need from class.

What is your favorite pose?
Seat work! Besides wanting to look fit, strengthening my gluts benefits my low back and knees (says PT!) which is something I’ve struggled with in the past.

Meet Jamie, Our Newest Mighty Barre Teacher!

Any tips for someone new to class? You can get through anything with just one more breath! Also, your mat is an island - don’t judge your own movements by anyone else’s. All bodies move differently, and that is 100% OK.

What is your favorite pose? Supta baddha konasana. It gets me completely blissed out!

What do you like to do outside the studio? Reading, knitting, skiing, running, ukulele, and baking. I love to make things!

What do you like to do off the yoga mat? I play with my "partners in crime" (my fiance and two dogs) , farmers and flea markets, eating local food, traveling....anything with a bit of adventure!
