How did you get introduced to Yoga?
Over ten years ago my friend brought me to a heated Vinyasa class in New Haven, CT. I
remember it being extraordinarily challenging but calming at the same time. There was something about it that I loved and I've been hooked ever since.

What do you like about Power Vinyasa Flow?
I love the energy and continuous flow of class. It also feels really good to sweat.

How has your Yoga changed since the first time you practiced?
I used to be an all or nothing practitioner. Now I’m better about listening to my body and
if I only have time for a 15-minute practice on a particularly busy day then I’m fine with it.

Why did you decide to teach Yoga?
I never thought about teaching until I was encouraged to apply for a teacher training
scholarship and got it! To this day I feel so grateful for all the gifts yoga has offered me
over the years that I cannot help but to share it with others.

Any tips for someone new to Yoga?
Yoga is a lot like cooking. It takes a lot of patience, practice, and presence.

What is your favorite pose or poses? Why?
Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrkasana). Working towards handstand has challenged me in so
many ways (and still does!). The process has helped me to understand the importance of
body positioning and movement along with the integration of strength, flexibility, balance and
stability. I am learning to overcome my fear of falling. It is amazing how fear can hold you
back. Through the process of working on handstands I have learned a lot about myself.

What do you like to do off the yoga mat?
I love spending time with my husband and taking my two golden retrievers (Lucy and Max- I
love them) out for a nice long walk or jog. Cooking and reading cookbooks is also a huge
passion of mine.

What fuels you?
I will take this question literally since good nutrition is crucial to fuel both the mind and body. I
love perusing through cookbooks to find healthy and delicious meals to cook for my family. I
prefer healthy, plant-based cooking. No matter how healthy, the dish has to taste good for it to
make our regular recipe cycle. Good nutrition is a top priority in my house.

What makes you Mighty?
My strong work ethic and passion to help others.
