About Joy


Joy has worn a few hats over the years from skating coach to college instructor to photographer. Joy is excited to find a place in the Mighty Yoga family where she can channel her energy, creativity, and be part of a team of similar - spirited individuals. As a former competitive athlete and daily runner, Joy is comfortable and motivated in Mighty Yoga's warm, fun, encouraging environment of self-exploration, awareness, and improvement. You'll see her at the desk and/or on the studio floor; feel free to strike up a conversation! Perhaps one day she will be on the floor as instructor as well! Joy is a busy mom of two active teens (3 if you count her German Shepherd) and 3 spoiled cats.

We asked Joy:

Why do you practice yoga and barre?  

Yoga, barre, Pilates, and running... I can't imagine going a day without one or some combo of these. How beautiful is it when you are able to both relax the mind and strengthen the body -- yet simultaneously & conversely strengthen the mind and relax the body -- all at once? It's my zen, my clarity, my reset and recharge, allowing me the peace and strength to be the healthiest I can be in mind, body, and spirit.

What fuels you?

Besides coffee? Finding those moments...whether it's finding that flow on the yoga mat, running that extra mile, the chaos & connectivity with my kids, a lazy snuggle on the couch with my cats & dog....anytime you find yourself truly present in the moment, in your life.
