I found my yoga practice while I was in graduate school.  I decided to try out yoga as a way to help deal with mental and physical stress.  What began as a random activity I wanted to try became a regular yoga practice around which I would plan the rest of my schedule.  Yoga helped me to find an outlet for stress, and also to build my own mental resilience so that I felt better-equipped to deal with stress.  Both my body and mind felt stronger and more easeful, and I could feel myself building physical and mental resilience through my practice.

I have always been passionate about teaching, and about sharing my love for particular subjects through teaching.  In 2012 (before I moved to the Upper Valley) I decided that, given how important yoga was to me, it only made sense to share that love of yoga with others through teaching.  I completed my teacher training at South Boston Yoga, and I felt empowered to share this life-changing practice with others.  I was excited to start teaching at Mighty Yoga right when it opened, and have loved being a part of this community ever since. 

Balance has always been an important part of my life.  I find balance in many ways - for example, I teach chemistry and I teach yoga.  Chemistry and yoga might sound like they are on opposite parts of the spectrum, but they are both big parts of my life and I love sharing them with my students.  I even love to find connections between them - I think about the biochemistry behind yoga, and I think about how I can bring mindfulness to the chemistry classroom.

My greatest mission as a teacher is to help support my students on their individual journeys, and to help them grow and learn more about themselves in the process.  I also strive to help my students find balance in their lives, since that has been such an important endeavor in my life.  In my yoga classes, you can expect to work hard and find the support to build mental resilience and ease.  You can expect sequencing that challenges the body in a balanced and thoughtful way.  And, you can expect to find a space that lets you be who you need to be and move through the yoga practice that you need on that particular day.  Last but not least, you can also expect to find joy and fun music (I love playing tunes you might not expect in a yoga class!) to help you move through your practice.
